Marie Antionette Dimmitt, 89, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026. She was born on July 6, 1936, in Clark County, Indiana, to the late Jess Allen Franklin and Roxie Mae (Haycraft) Franklin.

Marie dedicated 19 years of service to the Clarksville School System before retiring. She was a faithful and proud member of Hamburg Pike Church of Christ, where she lovingly taught Sunday School for 20 years, touching the lives of countless children and families through her devotion and service.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff Dimmitt (Pam), John Dimmitt (Cheryl), and Jim Dimmitt (Belinda); her daughter, Janice Dimmitt; grandchildren, Brad Dimmitt, Tori Dimmitt, Clay Dimmitt, Tyler Dimmitt, Jordan Dimmitt, and Cameron Schneider; and great-grandchildren, Kellen Dimmitt, Karoline Dimmitt, Aliyah Dimmitt, Landon Dimmitt, Lucas Dimmitt, Grace Dimmitt, Tucker Pugh, and Hunter Pugh.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, her sisters, Beatrice Holmes, Imogene Vest, Euleta Morgan, Edwina Lawson, Deloris Gray, and Joyce Franklin; her brothers, Robert, Laymon, Allus, Herman, Cletus, Lewis, and Danny Franklin; her grandson, Brandon Dimmitt; and her great-granddaughter, Madelyn Rae Dimmitt.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
