MARIE FATO

LIBERTYVILLE - Marie Fato, a resident of Libertyville, peacefully passed away on March 30, 2023, at the age of 89, at Bickford of Gurnee. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gil, whom she married on September 18, 1954, and with whom she shared 65 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2019. Marie's family was her greatest love and passion in life. She cherished creating lifelong memories with her grandchildren at their Beach House in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Her commitment to family was evident in her attendance at every band performance for her daughters and grandchildren, as well as her grandson's bike race. She was a devoted and longtime member of St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville, where she found comfort in her faith. Marie also enjoyed entertaining her family and loved bringing them together for meals. Her warm and welcoming nature made her home a gathering place for many happy occasions. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Marie is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara (Jim) Hibbard, Debbie (Mike) Racette and Karen Fato; cherished grandchildren, Timothy (Evie) Racette and Emily (David) Racette-Parulski; and her dearest great-granddaughter, Mattie Racette. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gil. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, April 20th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple Ave., Libertyville, where there will be a visitation one hour prior to Mass. Interment Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
