Marie Harbin (nee Martin) 64, beloved wife of Mark Harbin left this world on August 25, 2024. Marie was a caring wife, sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend. She was born to James and Marie Martin (nee Gallagher) on October 21, 1959. Marie resided in Drexel Hill and attended Saint Andrew Catholic School and Archbishop Prendergast High School before completing her bachelor's at Immaculata University with a degree in Music Education and a degree in Music Therapy.
Shortly after Marie retired from a 27-year career with Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia, she met and married the love of her life and moved to
Bowling Green, Kentucky. Marie was a member of the Bowling Green Church and leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will not be forgotten. She was a shining example of faith and kindness, embodying the words from Philippians 4: "Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand."
Marie was known for her angelic singing voice that could bring tears to your eyes. Her talent extended to the piano, guitar, flute and harp, where she shared her gift with those around her. She was selected to play the harp for the District Orchestra in Philadelphia while attending high school. Marie had a heart of gold, always looking out for those in need and bringing a smile to everyone she met. Her radiant smile and inclusive nature touched the lives of many all over the world.
Marie enjoyed taking long walks and finding solace in the simple pleasures of life. Together, Marie and Mark experienced new adventures including traveling, trips home to see family and fun events with Layne and Caitlin as well as many friends.
Marie's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a deep faith in God. As we mourn her passing, let us remember her with fondness and gratitude for the light she brought into our lives.
In addition to her husband, Marie is survived by her twin brother, James C. Martin, Jr (Cat), and siblings John P. Martin (Debbie) and Kathleen Fabrizio (Brian Elliott); step daughters Layne and Caitlin Harbin; In laws: Dwight Harbin (Pam), Dianna Wilson, Denise Lewis (Randy); nieces: Tara Weaver (Edward), Christie Keller (Kevin), Dr. Meghan Martin, Nicole Fabrizio (Steve), Sarah Martin (Adam), Elizabeth Harbin-Croft (Uzi), Stephanie Schubert and nephews: Sean Martin (Nancy), James Martin (Lauren), David Harbin (Annie), Stephen Lewis (Desiree); Aunts and Uncles: Florence Martin, Charles and Gail Liszewski, Joan and John J. Gallagher, Esq., and many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Marie was pre-deceased by her parents, uncle John J. Martin and brother-in-law David Wilson.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral service at 1:00 PM Friday, August 30, 2024 at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel, 820 Lovers Lane
Bowling Green, Kentucky. Visitation at the funeral home will be Friday, August 30 from 9:00 AM until the service time. Burial will follow in Bowling Green Gardens.
In addition, the family will have a memorial service at 10:00 am on September 7, 2024.
