Marie Nadine Dupree Johnson was born on June 13, 1939, to Mitchell Jordan and Louella Rabun in Kansas City, Missouri. They both preceded her in death.

Marie was married to Roscoe Kendall Johnson Jr., to this union 2 children were born. She was also later married to George Talbert Dupree Sr. and to this union 4 children were born.

Marie was preceded in death by (sisters) Martha Rabun, Mary Helen Bly, Barbara Ann McCrary, Shirley Jean Smocks, Mary Jo Edwards-Grigg and May Catherine Robertson.

Marie attended St. Monica’s Catholic School and Lillis High School. She worked as a Housekeeper, a Cashier and a Child Care Provider. She prided herself on the relationships she held with the many children she cared for.

She was a devoted Christian who loved her church and faithfully served God. She was baptized at St. Monica’s Catholic Church

She later joined St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and became very active in the Sodality of our Lady, serving as President. She later volunteered in the pantry of the church and the church office.

Marie also enjoyed working with the PTA, where she held many offices including President.

Marie was affectionately called “Midge”. She was also lovingly called MawMaw by her grandchildren. She loved to shop, cook and spend time with her children and grandchildren

Marie leaves to cherish her memory six children Sharon Patrice Johnson Byrd, Rosalind Karanna Johnson O’Hora, George Talbert Dupree Jr, (Arnell) Marcia Jacqueline Dupree Davis Carson (Michael), Candice Jeannine Dupree Releford(Glen) and John Marcus Anteres Dupree Sr. (Lisa) all from Kansas City, Missouri, 30 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild ;her siblings Robert L. Coleman Jr., Samuel Walter Sr. (Barbara), Michael Rabun Coleman Sr. (Quinetta), Donald Charles Coleman Sr. and Lola Michelle Coleman. a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
