Marie Johnson Obituary
Benson, NC: Mrs. Marie Johnson was welcomed into Heaven on December 29, 2025 at her residence. The Family will hold A Celebration of Life will be 11:00AM, Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Fair Haven Church of God 2675 NC Highway 242 S. Benson, NC 27504.
Marie will be missed by many who loved her. She was preceded in death by her father Marvin B. Johnson, mother, Hazel G. Johnson, and her son Samuel (Keith) Simmons.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel (Dale) Parker of Benson, NC; children, Terry Simmons of Costa Rica; Misty D. Shaner of Summerville, SC, Marie Parker of Raleigh, NC, and Christopher Parker of Benson, NC; grandchildren, Heather Rathbun of Summerville, SC, DJ Parker of Bedford Heights, OH, Haeley Simmons of Alburquerque, NM, and Sahara Crane of Summerville, SC; and she was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Maxton Jarvis of Moncks Corner, SC.
Marie was the “best grandmother ever” according to her granddaughter Sahara. To her husband Dale, she was his best friend, his confidant, and wife. She was a loyal Christian, and a joy and blessing to others. She spent several years as a volunteer at Liberty Home Care and Hospice, and enjoyed bring joy and comfort to her patients. Marie was a lover of all animals, but was especially fond of Dachshunds. Her loyal dachshund Chloe, was her shadow. She took great care of her pets, and spoiled them as much as she loved them. One of her favorite pastimes was riding Chloe and her other dachshunds around her home on the golf cart.
