Mass of Christian Burial for Marie Kampschneider age 99 of Dodge, NE will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE with Fr. Walter Jong-A-Kiem as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, December 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. A Christian Mother's rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. followed by a American Legion Auxiliary Tribute, there will be a public vigil service and rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is assisting the family with the arrangements. The family suggests memorials to St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dodge Fire and Rescue, and St. Wenceslaus Church.
Marie passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Franciscan Healthcare in West Point, NE.
Marie A. Kampschneider was born December 18, 1924 at West Point, NE to Henry and Theresa (Ulrich) Hunke. She graduated from St. Boniface Catholic School-Monterey.
On April 16, 1947, she was united in marriage to Marvin Kampschneider at St. Boniface Catholic Church-Monterey. Marie was a devoted farm wife on the farm near Dodge, NE raising their four children. After Marvin passed away in 1985, she moved to Dodge in February of 1986. Marie worked at the Parkview Home in Dodge for 5 years and also as the housekeeper and cook for Rev. Monsignor Mel Wiese. She lived at home until October of 2023, when she moved to St. Joseph's Retirement Community and on October 15, 2024, Marie became a resident of St. Joseph's Hillside Villa.
Marie was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Altar Society and after moving to Dodge was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, it's Altar Society and Christian Mother's. She was a member of Dodge American Legion Auxiliary, where she held various offices. Marie volunteered for the Blood Mobile in Dodge and at Parkview Home. She enjoyed bowling at Hilltop Lanes, playing cards, her favorite being sheep head, she belonged to many card groups over the years, doing word search books, and golfing. Marie enjoyed traveling with Marvin and friends, attending her kids and grandkids sporting events. She also spent time watching baseball games on the television and was a fan of Nebraska Football and Volleyball.

Jennifer Pearce and children-Megan Pearce and son-Kyler, and Jacob Pearce
Janet (Mike) Simmons and son-Landon
Son-Dale (deceased) and Louanne Kampschneider of Fremont, NE and family-
Emily (Steve) Fink and children-Joe & Alex
Penny (Adam) Kreikemeier and children-Grace, Isaac, Eli, & Chloe
Derek (Kylie) Kampschneider and children-Brooklyn & Levi
Daughter-Jolene (Mark) Steffensmeier of Dodge, NE and family-
Jackie (Devon) Robotham and children-Aiden & Haylee
Tyler (Katey) Steffensmeier and children-Scotti May & Mia Marie
Sisters-in-law- Lorraine Hunke of Wellington, CO
JoAnn Evert of West Point, NE
Many nieces and nephews also survive her.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents-Henry and Theresa Hunke, husband-Marvin Kampschneider in November of 1985, son-Dale Kampschneider in October of 2014, and siblings-Leander Hunke, Elaine (Joel) Aschoff, Alvin Hunke, Bernice (Joe) Johnson, Luetta (Gene) Evert, and Camilla (Norbert) Schlautman.
