In Loving Memory of Marie Lesutis (née Mahon) August 5, 1951 - October 25, 2025
Marie Lesutis, a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, beloved sister, aunt, great-aunt and treasured friend, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, in the loving home of her daughter after a courageous, years-long battle with cancer. She was 74.
Born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, and raised in Darby, Marie's early life was rooted in faith and community, attending BVM Church, graduating from Archbishop Prendergast High School in 1969 and later earning her Bachelor's degree from Widener University. Her warmth and brilliance carried her through a distinguished career at Wells Fargo Bank, where she rose to the role of Senior Vice President in the Commercial Banking group-a testament to her intelligence, integrity, and leadership.
Marie's heart belonged to her family. She was the devoted daughter of James and Edith Mahon (née Anthony), and the proud mother of Emily Lesutis and Dan Lesutis. She adored her granddaughters, Willow Leon-Guerrero (3) and Madeline Kennedy (1), was a loving sister to Patricia Phillips (née Mahon), a fun, nurturing aunt to Brion and Jeffrey Phillips, and a beloved great-aunt to Austin Phillips, Jeffrey Phillips Jr., and Ava Phillips.
A long-time resident of Springfield, PA, and most recently a resident of the Fox Hill Farm community in Glen Mills since 2012, Marie's warmth and laughter touched all who knew her. Her creativity knew no bounds-she sewed Halloween costumes, crafted holiday décor, and even made her own drapery. She was a masterful cook and baker, a lifelong player of cards and board games, a lover of books and music, and an adventurer at heart who found joy in camping and travel. She was an exceptional babysitter, a wise and trusted mentor, a joyful, loving mother and aunt, and a faithful friend to so many-a person whose presence was a genuine blessing in the lives of all who knew her.
Marie's legacy is one of love, laughter, and generosity. She gave her time, her talents, and her heart freely, and she leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to inspire and comfort those who knew her. Marie's spirit will live on in every game played around a table, every stitch sewn with care, every cozy snuggle with a warm puppy, and every child's giggle echoing through the halls of a home filled with love.
