Marie C Modic

Marie Connors Modic 94, of Moorestown, NJ, formerly of Scotia, NY, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025. She was born on September 3, 1930, and was raised in Boston, MA. She received a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Emmanuel College, Boston, MA in 1952 and a master's degree from Union College, Schenectady, NY in 1975.
Marie worked as a computer programmer at MIT until 1955 when she moved to Schenectady, NY and worked for General Electric as an engineering assistant. After raising a family, Marie taught at St. Joseph's School in Scotia, NY for 13 years. Following her teaching career Marie worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block. She was very active in numerous volunteer organizations in the Schenectady area and enjoyed square dancing, bridge and traveling throughout the world. Marie was a parishioner of the Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Moorestown, NJ and was formerly a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church in East Glenville, NY.
Marie was pre-deceased by her loving husband Frank J. Modic and her son Michael J. Modic. She is survived by her children Diane Modic Smith (Brad), Dr. Frank E. Modic (Marty) and Kevin J. Modic (Richelle). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Gregory, Megan, Michele, Caroline, Adam, Aaron and Tyler and 3 great granddaughters: Riley, Elliot and Amelia.
Mass of Christian burial 10:30 am Friday, May 2nd at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church,
42 W. Main St. Moorestown, NJ. Visitation Friday 9:30 – 10:30 am at the Church,
Interment Gate of Heaven, Berlin, NJ.
