Obituary of Marie Eileen Sulzbach
Marie Eileen Sulzbach, 80 years old, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Marie was born on December 14, 1944, in Duluth, MN, to Al and Trudy Edstrom. The family moved to South Minneapolis in 1961, where she graduated from South High School in 1962. Marie married in 1964 and was blessed with three children. She went on to own a small but successful business, thriving in her career until her retirement. In 2003, Marie met and married Fred Sulzbach, and together they shared an exciting life, traveling the world. Fred passed away in 2019.
Marie is survived by her sons, Gregory Geiselhart (Karen) and Marc Geiselhart; her daughter, Anne Iwanin (Andy); her grandchildren, Sandra, Tess, Ellie, and Ollie; her sister, Louise Lofald (Allen); and her brother, David Edstrom (Joyce). Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Al and Trudy Edstrom, her daughter-in-law, Rebekka Wahala, and her beloved husband, Fred Sulzbach.
A private family memorial service will be held to honor Marie's life on March 18, 2025. Donations in memory of Marie may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Inc., 225 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
Marie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
