Marie Thorgersen Obituary
Born May 31, 1942, In Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Albert and Anna Bukofzer. Marie was the youngest sibling of Alberta, Ann, Jean, Eileen, Michael and twin of Albert. She spent most of her life in Brooklyn, until moving to Staten Island.
Marie devoted her life to her family, she loved being a homemaker. Everyone knew her as a beautiful, kind, funny and caring person, the best mother anyone could ever ask for, always welcoming everyone into her home.
Marie was the beloved wife to the late George. She was a devoted mother to her children, George & Lori Thorgersen, Christine Thorgersen, Tina & Robert Mironovich, Thomas Thorgersen, Marie Thorgersen & Lawrence McLaughlin and Michael & Valerie Thorgersen. She was a loving and proud Grandmother to her 16 grandchildren, Vincent, Michael, Christopher, Nicholas, Lauren, Megan, Kristen, Robert, Kimberly, James, Thomas, Tristan, Tyler, Michael, Christian and Julianna. She is also cherished by her 11 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, inc., 28 Eltingville Boulevard, Staten Island, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Holy Child Church, 4747 Amboy Road, Staten Island, New York. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
Our hearts will be forever broken but she is now at peace and with those that she loved.
