Marie Agnes Elizabeth Furlong Wall passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the age of 98, just shy of her 99th birthday by 22 days. Marie was born in Baltimore, MD, on July 31, 1926, to Walter Burns Furlong and Mary Teresa Moeller Furlong.
Marie was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert Barrett Wall; her parents; her brother, Walter J. Furlong (Dorothy); her sister, Anne Burke (Bud); and son-in-law, Anthony Giordano. Marie is survived by her children, Teresa Domek (John), Robert Wall (Dana), Patricia Giordano, Marcia Salvo (Emile), Daniel Wall, Rosemary Wall, Joseph Wall (Cindy) and James Wall (Kristen). She also leaves her 16 grandchildren, Tara Klein (Mark), Anthony Giordano (Jacqlyn), Melissa Shine (Brian), Peter Giordano (Heather), Emily Wall, Kelly Raboin (Nate), Ryan Kavanaugh, Ian Kavanaugh, Matt Salvo, Nick Salvo (Kayla), Griffin Wall, Connor Wall, Elias Wall, Miguel Wall, Fernando Wall and Sophie Wall. Marie grew up in Baltimore, MD, graduating from Seton Hall High School. She belonged to the Kateri Tekakwitha Mission, helping the poor in southern Maryland. She met Bob Wall at a church dance and they married a year later. Marie and Bob moved to Philadelphia, PA, where 5 of their children were born. They moved to Cheshire, CT, in 1957, where their other 3 children were born. They raised their 8 children at 405 Maple Avenue in Cheshire, a home fondly known as the "Wall House".
Marie was devoted to her Catholic faith and was a parishioner of St. Bridget Church in Cheshire. She belonged to the Women's Club, Legion of Mary and the Prayer Line. Marie was in the prison ministry at the Connecticut Correctional Institution in Cheshire and visited many local nursing homes, saying prayers and the Rosary with the residents.
Marie was a past president of Bob Wall and Associates. She and her husband, Bob, enjoyed ballroom dancing and belonged to the Cheshire Cats Square Dancing Club. She greatly enjoyed her large family and vacationed with them in Maine, New Hampshire and her beloved Ocean City, MD. She also traveled to Jerusalem, Italy and Ireland.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Meadow Mills in Hamden for their extraordinary and loving care. Also, thanks to the Verdi West staff at the Yale New Haven Hospital St. Raphael Campus for their compassion and wonderful care of Marie.
