Marielle Minges, age 57, the daughter of Robert and Lilia Minges, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on Saturday, June 24th, 2023, after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer.
Marielle was born April 21, 1966, in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and also resided in Africa, France, and the United States. She graduated from The American International School in Nice, France in 1984 and continued on to receive a Bachelor of the Arts Degree with a concentration in Foreign Languages and European History from Plymouth State University in 1989.
Marielle was a long-time fixture in the Washington DC hospitality scene for over 34 years, having worked at the Watergate Hotel, Tony and Joes, La Chaumiere, and Joes Steak & Seafood. She was remembered by patrons as warm, cheerful, and always wanting to assist in making their dining experiences as memorable as possible.
Marielle's passions were traveling, fine dining, beautiful wines, art, and dancing. She was always celebrating life with true joie de vivre.
Marielle is survived by her brother Michael Minges, nephew Nicolas Minges, and niece Sophie O'Hare, Bonnie Ross (best friend and roommate of over 25 years), and Charles Mann (boyfriend of 12 years).
Cremation and viewing will be private, however there will be a Celebration of Life as Marielle requested in lieu of funeral services. The Celebration of Life plans when finalized will be posted on Marielle Minges' and Bonnie Ross' Facebook pages. In lieu of flowers, loved ones and friends are welcome to make donations in Marielle's honor to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at pancan.org/donate, through the mail at 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266, or by calling 877-272-6226.
