Marilyn Bailey Obituary
MORTON – Marilyn J. Bailey, 92, of Morton, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Reflections Memory Care in Morton.
She was born August 1, 1931, in Aurora, Illinois, to Collins and Ethel (Cassidy) Simpson. Marilyn married Leland Bailey on November 28, 1959, in Aurora. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2022. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Bill Simpson.
Surviving are her son, John Bailey of Morton; daughter, Sharon (Mark) Wabel of Groveland; grandchildren, Leah (Matt Ramaekers) Wabel of West Des Moines, Iowa and Sam Wabel of Groveland; sister, Maggie Rice of Denver, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
Marilyn worked as a secretary for The Burlington Northern Railroad in Chicago during the 1950’s.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, October 16, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Pekin.
Memorials may be made to Tazewell Animal Protective Society (T.A.P.S.) in Pekin.
