Marilyn Boyce Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Essex Junction on Nov. 26, 2025.
Essex Junction, Vermont - Marilyn "Lyn" Collemer Boyce, born December 22, 1934, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on November 21, 2025. She was 90 years old.
Marilyn grew up on a farm in Lincolnville, Maine, the daughter of Aubrey and Elsie Collemer. As one of eight children raised during the challenges of wartime, she formed a strong work ethic, a profound sense of responsibility, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew her. At the age of 17, she moved to Vermont to attend nursing school-a choice that set the foundation for both her calling and her future family. During her training, she met the love of her life, Bertie Reynold Boyce, whom she married in 1955. Together they shared a lifetime of devotion, commitment, and faithfulness raising their two children. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love.
She is survived by her son, Reynold (and his wife Kim), and her daughter, Kimberley (and her husband David), along with nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, many loved nieces, nephews, and friends. Her family was her greatest joy, she cherished time spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bertie, as well as her brothers Ramon, Nathan, Reginald, Lawrence, and Norman, and her sisters Eleanor and Catherine.
After her children were grown, Marilyn continued to impact the lives of young people for many years as the nurse at Albert D. Lawton Middle School. She served and gave generously to others, touching countless lives through her compassion, kindness, and steady presence.
Marilyn's deep love for the Lord Jesus shaped every aspect of her life. She lived her faith with humility, grace, and a selfless heart for service. She nurtured and encouraged by offering care, prayer and wisdom to many. She also faithfully supported missions both at home and abroad.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who visited and supported Marilyn as her health declined. Thanks are given to the University of Vermont Home Health and Hospice team for their exceptional care, compassion, and guidance.
Per her request, there will be no funeral service. Interment will take place at a private family gathering. In keeping with her commitment to improving the lives of children, memorial contributions may be made to Compassion International.
Marilyn will be remembered for her warmth, her strength, her deep faith, and the love she so freely poured into her family and into the lives of others. Honor her memory by serving others with kindness and integrity. Her legacy lives on in all who were blessed to know her, and she will be deeply missed.
