Robert C. Carmichael

Robert Calvin Carmichael, Jr., 90, of Essex Vermont passed away peacefully on February 19,

2026. Bob was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on August 30, 1935. He was

predeceased by his parents, Robert Calvin and Florence Bidwell Carmichael of Winston-Salem,

NC and Sunapee, NH; sister Elizabeth Carmichael Hedstrom of Hingham, MA; brother Richard

Bidwell Carmichael of Pfafftown, NC; and his loving wife, June Miles Carmichael who passed

away in 2009.

He is survived by his two sons, James Patrick Carmichael and his wife, Pamela Ross, of

Poland, ME, and Robert Bidwell Carmichael of Burlington, VT; sister-in-law Sandra Carmichael

of Pfafftown, NC; his two wonderful granddaughters Lauren Carmichael (Andrew Robinson) of

Cumberland, RI, and Melinda Carmichael (Nicholas Patides) of Oldsmar, FL; and two great

grandchildren Kai Robinson and Zuri Robinson. Also several nieces and nephews survive.

There will be no visiting hours, and internment in the family plot at Mountain View Cemetery in

Essex will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome in

Bob's name to BAYADA Hospice, 463 Mountain View Drive, Suite 100, Colchester, VT 05446.

The family would like to personally thank the many people who looked after Bob over the last 5

years, including the caring and attentive staff at Mansfield Place Assisted Living and Memory

Care in Essex Junction, VT, and the many remarkable Bayada Hospice Care personnel who

kept Bob comfortable while on hospice at Mansfield Place.
