Marilyn Capuana, age 74 of Sauquoit, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2023 after a recent battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her children Nicole, Tonia, Erica and Andrew at her home she loved during her final days. Her grandchildren Otto, Wilder, Willa, and Lupine gave her lots of hugs and kisses in her last days.
Marillyn was born in Syracuse, NY to Willis H. Clark and Dorothy J. Brown. Marilyn grew up living the farm life in the Batavia area, always sharing stories of her upbringing milking cows before school and riding horses and donkeys all over the countryside. She met the love of her life, Nicholas J. Capuana, when she was a nurse in Buffalo. Together, they moved to Sauquoit and raised their children in the country. She loved horses, skiing, cooking/feeding people, documenting life, and spending time with her family. Marillyn was pure love with a giant heart to care for all.
She is survived by her husband, Nick and all her children, their partners and grandchildren: Nicole Capuana, John and Otto Rukenbrod, Tonia Capuana, Tannen and Wilder Printz, Erica Capuana, David, Willa, and Lupine Dow, and Andrew Capuana. She lives on in her surviving siblings and their families, Debby Koester, Don Clark, Nancy Ukshe, Carrie Lynn Clark Moore, Beverly Harris and many loving cousins.
There will be no funeral or calling hours, as requested by Marilyn. Arrangements are with the Smith Funeral Home 3022 Oneida St. Sauquoit, NY 13456
