*Livestream can be viewed by clicking "Live Webcast" under services details Marilyn Palmer Corwith, 92, of Greenport NY and formerly of Water Mill NY, placed the final piece into her jigsaw puzzle on February 23, 2022. Born on January 2, 1930 in Ithaca NY to Harold and Dorothy Palmer, Marilyn was one of five children. She graduated from Cornell University in 1952, and married her late husband, Richard "Pete" Corwith, a fellow Cornell graduate, shortly thereafter. They resided in Water Mill, NY, on the family farm (Corwith Farms) where they raised their four children, Emily, Lynne, Richard (Dicky), and William (Billy). Marilyn enjoyed singing, and was a long-time member of the church choir at First Presbyterian Church in Southampton, and the Long Island Sound Chapter of Sweet Adelines. She loved puzzles, feeding the birds, gardening, traveling and reading. Her interests were wide and varied, and she truly knew a little bit about everything. She was very involved in many activities at Southampton First Presbyterian church, active in local 4-H, and volunteered with the Water Mill Museum and Southampton Hospital. Marilyn was an icon in the Water Mill community for decades before moving to Peconic Landing in Greenport in 2010. Marilyn was received in heaven into the open arms of her Lord and Savior, her loving husband, her sons Dicky & Billy, her great grandson Easton, and her parents and siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Emily and Lynne, their husbands Thomas and Steven, her grandchildren, Martha, Elizabeth, Carrie, Jennifer, Matthew, Richard (Richie), Christy, Katelyn and Janet, and great grandchildren Kaylee, Gavin, Ava, Mikayla, Jackson, Logan, Maeve and William (Will). A memorial visitation will take place Wednesday, March 2nd from 4-7pm at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton. Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 3rd 11am at the First Presbyterian Church of Southampton followed by interment at Water Mill cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Water Mill Museum PO Box 63 Water Mill, NY 11976 (https://watermillmuseum.org/donate/) or the Peconic Land Trust 296 Hampton Road Southampton, NY 11968 would be greatly appreciated.
