Marilyn Louise Dowell

Marilyn Louise Dowell, age 91, of Centralia, Missouri, formerly of Bucklin, MO, passed away on February 21, 2026, at Heritage Hall Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing in Centralia.

Marilyn was born on April 15, 1934, in Green City, Missouri, the daughter of Robert and Mable (Turner) Cattey. She graduated from Green City High School. Marilyn was united in marriage to Herman Dowell on March 27, 1955, in Winigan, MO, and together they shared many years devoted to family and home. He preceded her in death.

A devoted homemaker, Marilyn found her greatest joy in caring for her family. She loved cooking and baking, raising her children, and spending time with those she loved most. Her home was a place of warmth, generosity, and faith. Marilyn was an active member of Bucklin Christian Church, where she also participated in the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was additionally a proud member of the Odd Fellows Rebekahs.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Robert Dowell of Bucklin, MO; daughter-in-law, Sharon Dowell of Hallsville, MO; grandchildren, Terah Washam (Stephen) of Hallsville, MO, Christopher Dowell (Amber) of Marceline, MO, Crystal Heaney of Milan, MO and James Dowell (Crystal) of Browning, MO; numerous great-grandchildren, Kirsten Heaney, Savannah Dowell, Emily Heaney, Ely Washam, Ethan Dowell, Trevor Koger, Courtney Heaney, Liam Washam, Malakai Washam, Nick Rhodes, Skylar Rhodes, Adain Daller, and Addison Daller; and one great-great-grandchild, Berkeley. She is also survived by nieces, Vickie Elliott (Joe) of Macon, Linda Stecher of Atchison, Kansas, Sandy Ware of Columbia, and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman Dowell; two sons, Bruce Dowell and Paul Dowell; daughter-in-law, Susann Dowell; her sister, Valeta Ware; and brother-in-law, Clyde Ware.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Bucklin Christian Church. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Bucklin Masonic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bucklin Christian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Delaney Funeral Home in Bucklin, MO.
