Marilyn Linsenmann Ekey, age 82, of
Naperville, IL, passed away on December 19, 2024, in Surprise, AZ. Marilyn was born on June 24, 1942 in Bay City, MI to the late Karl and Louise (nee Thomson) Linsenmann.
Marilyn was a devoted wife of 56 years until the passing of her beloved husband, Glen Ekey.
Marilyn is survived by her loving children, David (Jennifer) Ekey of Grand Rapids, MI and Tricia (Don) Mueller of
Naperville, IL; proud grandmother of Melissa (Christian) Mutchler, Jackson Ekey, Madelyn Mueller and Molly Mueller. She will be fondly remembered as Aunt Marilyn to nieces, nephews, their families and the many friends that became family through the years. Every moment spent together was a cherished memory that will forever grace the hearts of those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Katharine (nee Linsenmann) Gann.
Marilyn graduated from Midland High School in Midland, MI class of 1960 and Michigan State University as member of Sigma Kappa Sorority class of 1964. At Michigan State she met the love of her life, Glen, on a blind date. They were married on August 23, 1964, in Midland, MI. Together, they both received Master's degrees from Purdue University as they embarked on their life together. The two enjoyed a loving marriage and she poured her heart into raising a wonderful family, supporting them in all their endeavors. Whether it was behind the scenes or front and center, Marilyn was always there to cheer on at sporting events, volunteer for different organizations, and be there for anyone and everyone who needed her.
Marilyn had a vibrant spirit and an ability to bring people together. She loved hosting parties and gatherings, creating an atmosphere filled with laughter and joy, and making everyone feel at home. Her welcoming nature and zest for life allowed her to forge deep connections with friends, who became family, always making time to lend a listening ear or a helping hand.
Marilyn spent her winters in Surprise, Arizona, where she found solace in the sunshine and created beautiful friendships and memories surrounded by natural beauty. Her kind spirit, generous heart, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all.

In this time of sorrow, we invite friends and family to celebrate Marilyn's life, reflecting on the countless moments of joy she has provided each of us. In her honor a Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill Street, Naperville. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM and Committal services will follow at Naperville Cemetery.
