Private family service for Mrs. Marilyn Jerry Finney of Farmerville, LA, formerly of West Monroe, will be held Monday, August 28, 2023. Interment will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Rd. Monroe.
Marilyn was born in El Dorado, AR, and passed away on August 24, 2023. “Grammy,” as she was known to her grandchildren, loved attending their school and sporting events and spending time with her grandkids in any way she could. She enjoyed working in her yard, sewing, shopping with her daughters, and traveling with her two closest friends, Janie and Hilda. Marilyn had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her dachshund, Dosie Bell. Those closest to her enjoyed her sharp wit and her appreciation of a “good” joke.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Finney; daughters, Kelli Worthey (Jim), Kim Barr (Dan), and Kristen Dyer (Damien); grandchildren, Jackson Worthey, Jed Worthey, Gray Worthey, Katherine Worthey, Jacob Barr, John Barr, Finn Dyer, and Will Dyer; and brother, Dennis Jerry (Teresa).
The family would like to thank the medical staff and all who cared for her at St. Dominic’s Hospital in her final days. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society Adoption Center of Monroe or to the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home.
