Marilyn Moyer Halteman, 82, of Franconia Township, died on Friday, June 21, 2024. She was the wife of Harold K. Halteman.
Born in Franconia Township, she was a daughter of the late Curtis and Esther (Moyer) Bergey.
Marilyn was a member of Franconia Mennonite Church for over 70 years, where she was baptized in 1951 after a Brunk revival meeting. She taught the 2-year-old Sunday School class for over 20 years.
Marilyn enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking bread, gardening, propagating unusual flowers and canning. After retirement Harold and Marilyn traveled to Ethiopia, Kenya, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Paraguay, Brazil and Israel.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Karen Derstine and her husband Kevin of Souderton, PA, Jerry Halteman and his wife Rhonda of Birdsboro, PA, Phil Halteman and his wife Karin of Salfordville, PA, Mike Halteman and his wife Amy of Perkiomenville, PA, Andy Halteman and his wife Dea of Quakertown, PA, and Jeff Halteman and his wife Jolene of Souderton, PA; grandchildren, Megan McCoy, Nathaniel Derstine, Evan Halteman, Gabrielle Seaman, Taylor Bayley, Taylor Kurtz, Corrine Arsenault, Philip Halteman, Katie Halteman, Matthew Halteman, Luke Halteman, Derek Halteman, Dylan Halteman, Aidan Halteman, Ashley Halteman and Austin Halteman, three great-grandchildren, two brothers, John Derstine and his wife Mary and Henry Derstine and his wife Donna and a sister Betty Kerr and her husband Rod.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister and a son Tom Halteman.
A viewing will be held from 9-11 AM on Saturday, June 29, at Franconia Mennonite Church, 613 Harleysville Pike, Telford, PA 18969, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, 21 South 12th street, P.O. Box 500, Akron, PA 17501-0500 or Living Hope Native Ministries, Box 50, International Falls, MN, 56649-0050.
