Marilyn Haskell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cartwright Funeral Home - Randolph on Mar. 21, 2025.
Marilyn J. (Maxwell) Haskell, of Randolph, formerly of Easton, a beacon of love and kindness, left this world on March 18, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on April 7, 1950, in Boston, she was the cherished daughter of the late George A. and M. Helen (Costello) Maxwell. Marilyn's life was a testament to the power of love, friendship, and unwavering dedication to family.
A proud graduate of Randolph High School, Marilyn furthered her education at Blue Hills earning her Dental Assistant Certificate. Later, she attended Newbury College, where she studied Business Management. Her academic pursuits laid the foundation for a successful career in banking, where she worked for many years until her well-deserved retirement.
Marilyn's warm heart and gentle spirit shone brightly as a loving mother to her son, Brian G. Haskell, and his lifetime partner, Jennifer Benkart of Randolph. Her nurturing love extended to her grandsons, Justin Haskell and Nicholas Bucuvalas, who knew her affectionately as "Gramma." She was a source of strength and love for her extended family, leaving behind her devoted sisters, Ann Marie Hanley and her husband Rick of California, and Mary H. Burke of Illinois. Also many nieces, nephews and great ones. Marilyn carried the memory of her late son, Kenneth W. Haskell, Jr., in her heart, honoring his life by living hers with the same compassion they both shared.
Marilyn's friendships were a testament to her friendly and kind nature. She maintained lifelong connections with her Randolph High School friends and treasured the bonds with her best friends, who together navigated the joys and challenges of life. Her friends and family will fondly remember her for the love and laughter she brought into their lives.
Her family was the most important thing to her. She embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories with her loved ones, whether through shared meals, conversations, or simply being in each other's company. In retirement, Marilyn had a passion for the craft of rug hooking, a hobby that allowed her to express her creativity and connect with a community of fellow artisans. She also loved to crochet, and enjoyed pickleball, lunch dates and traveling with her closest triends.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Marilyn will remember her as the epitome of loving, kind, and friendly. She lived her life to the fullest, with each day bringing a new chance to spread joy and show her unwavering care for those around her. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring power of relationships.
As Marilyn's journey on this earth concludes, her spirit continues to inspire all who knew her. Her radiant smile, compassionate heart, and the love she so freely gave will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period on Friday, March 28th, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St., Randolph. A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

Marilyn was such a loving person to everyone she knew. She was my best friend, from our coffee phone calls in the morning to having our hair done, Town spa, Wednesday lunch with me and my daughters, to shopping,, crocheting and talking happy times. Her greatest love was for her boys and grandson. She will be sadly missed by so many lives she has touched. Miss you my dear Marilyn, you will always be in my thoughts and my heart!
Love, Muriel
