Marilyn Helm Obituary
She was born in Sonora to Stanford H. and Elsie Catherine Milby Routt. Marilyn graduated from Larue County High School, class of 1961. She was the payroll manager at Gates Rubber Company with over 37 years invested. Marilyn loved helping other people and was an active lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Sonora as a Sunday school teacher, choir music leader, and chaperoned many youth camps. She was the president of the Lady's Monday Night Bowling League and a member of the United States Bowling Congress, Marilyn also bowled in the National Tournament for the last 29 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Randell Routt, and a sister, Penny Oliphant.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Darryl Helm of Sonora, KY, daughter, Darla Christy (Josh) Kirkland of Madisonville, KY, sister, Neysa (Bill) White of Woodland, TX, her sweet granddaughters, Ella Brook and Olivia Claire Kirkland, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday June 8, 2025 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Sonora in Sonora, KY with Bro. Tony Carson officiating. Burial will be held at the Sonora Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora or Sunday 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Sonora.
