Marilyn J. Hite

Marilyn J. Hite, 84, of Mount Vernon passed away on January 16, 2026 at her home with her loving husband at her side. She was born on January 9, 1942 to the late Carl E and Dorothy J. (Ackerman) Calkins of Mount Vennon, OH.

Marilyn was a Mount Vernon High School graduate, class of 1960. She was a member of The National Honors Society at the High School. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mount Vernon, OH, where she played in the handbell choir for many years. Marilyn was a past member of Beta Sigma Phi. In High School Marilyn worked for First Knox National Bank. Following graduation from High School she worked for Cooper Industries and then Ariel Corporation.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bruce Hite; a son Andrew (Sandra) Hite of Westerville, OH; grandchildren Brian, Alisha, Matthew, Abby and Katie; great grandchildren Brayden, Amelia, Oaklynn and Hudson; sisters Marcia (John) Ashcraft of Fredericktown, OH and Barbara J. (David) Taylor of Bellville, OH; Sister-In-Law Nancy C. (Robert) Eschman; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and a son Alan Hite, Brother-in-Law Roger Hite.
