In Loving Memory of Marilyn Louise Hocking November 16, 1940 – June 18, 2025
With heartfelt sadness and love, we announce the passing of Marilyn Louise Hocking, who left this world peacefully on June 18, 2025, at the age of 84.
Marilyn was a beloved sister to Robert Hocking and William (Jeanne) Hocking, and sister-in-law to Frances Hocking. She was a proud and cherished aunt to an extended and ever-growing family that includes 45 great and great-great nieces and nephews-each of whom she loved dearly. A lifelong resident of Michigan, Marilyn spent her professional years working in accounting at Ford Motor Company. After her well-earned retirement, she often joked with pride that she had been retired longer than she worked-and she made the most of every moment. Marilyn had a passion for travel and enjoyed the thrill of a good day at the casino. She found joy in exploring new places, sharing laughter with loved ones, and living life on her own terms. She is survived by many who loved and admired her, including Mark (Doralina) Hocking, Julie (Greg) Greenway, Robert (Sue) Hocking, Anna (Doug) Sparkman, Laura (Gary) Rumohr, John (Faye) Hocking, Steve (Terri) Hocking, Marilyn (Steve) Frazier, and Gary (Jill) Hocking. Marilyn's warmth, wit, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives she touched.
