Marilyn “Mickey” Jackiewicz, 94, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2023 at Springhouse Estates in Ambler, Pennsylvania.
Mickey was born in Paterson, NJ to the late Robert and Rose (née Smith) Magee on June 13, 1929. She attended school at St. Mary’s in Paterson.
Mickey worked as a business office manager for New Jersey Bell for over 20 years. She was also a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Maple Glen.
Mickey is survived by her loving children, Gary (Monica Zoldak) Jackiewicz, Robert Lawrence Jackiewicz, and Pat (Ed) McBurnie; four grandchildren Gary Jackiewicz, Paul (Tameka Pinckney) Jackiewicz, Ed (Katy) McBurnie and Katelyn (Mike) Shinkle; and seven great-grandchildren: Christian, Kiley, Grace, Sarah, Madison, Anna and Olivia. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in law, Robert and Joan Magee.
The most important thing to Mickey was her love of family and her husband Bob, with whom she shared 73 wonderful years. They were inseparable and together they experienced the world through travel, live theater, and cuisine. Mickey was the heart of her family and used any and every occasion as a way to bring the family together as often as possible.
She saw the world through rose-colored glasses and lived with a deep appreciation of everyone around her. She found joy in expressing her appreciation in creative ways with a small gift or gesture. Mickey often remarked of her father that he had a “twinkle” in his eye. It can be said, and Mickey agreed, that she had a “twinkle” in her heart. She lived and loved every part of life the way we all should want to live and love our own life.
Mickey once commented “Wouldn’t the world be so much better if everyone just did a little something to put a smile on another’s face?”
The funeral mass and internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the American Heart Association www.heart.org.
