A funeral service for Marilyn Johnson, 91, of Dickinson, formerly of Fairview, MT, will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairview.
Marilyn passed away February 26, 2023 in Dickinson.
Marilyn Marcia Madland was born on February 18, 1932 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Victor and Agnus (Nielsen) Madland. She grew up in Minneapolis and attended school there.
She married Philip Weiser, and they had 4 children, Philip, Michael, David, and Mary. The family moved to Williston, North Dakota. They then moved to Watford City, North Dakota where Philip managed a hardware store.
Marilyn remarried in 1971 to Eldin Johnson in Fairview, Montana. She gained 4 more children, Myron, Patti, Kirk, and Scott.
Marilyn owned a travel agency (World Travel Service) in Sidney, Montana. She was very proud of her business and loved to travel and escort tours. She went by “Blondie” and wrote a column in the newspaper.
She was a very outgoing, friendly person and loved people. She never knew a stranger.
Eldin and Marilyn spent a lot of time at their winter home in Arizona, and they made many friends in Mesa.
Marilyn attended spiritual retreats in the United States and India. Her favorite saying was “All we are is Spirit”.
She is greatly missed by many…she is and was well loved.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Philp Weiser and David Weiser; her step-son, Myron Johnson; and her grandson, Nikolas Harris.
