Angier, NC: Mrs. Marilyn Ann Mills Johnson, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Barbour Court Nursing and Rehabilitation in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be held-11:00 AM Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Providence Presbyterian Church in Angier. Officiating will be Pastor Becky Raynor and Rev. Roger Korsten. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was born on March 27, 1930 to the late Lelon Foriest and Annie Lou Coley Mills. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rupert Lacy Johnson. Prior to retirement, she worked in retail sales and was a farmer’s wife. She was friendly, caring, and never met a stranger. Mrs. Johnson had a beautiful soprano voice and enjoyed her time in the Providence Presbyterian Choir where she was a lifelong member.
Surviving are her daughters, Lou Ann Buck and partner, Ricky Ennis and Peggy Barnhill and husband, Billy; grandson, Trevor McDaniel Buck; granddaughter, Annie Elizabeth Lewis; lifelong friend, Joyce Auten of Gastonia; and special friend, Carolyn Johnson.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service in the church sanctuary and other times at the home of Peggy and Billy Barnhill.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Cardinal Hospice Care at 3884 Henderson Dr. Jacksonville, NC 28546.
