Marilyn MacDicken Obituary

Marilyn C. MacDicken, age 75, of Yorktown departed this earthly plain after a 13 year battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia on May 4, 2023.

She enjoyed a very long and successful career with The United Postal Service as an IT specialist until cancer forced her to retire early.

From there she enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, watching her favorite TV shows, going to the Peninsula Community Theater for plays and making memories with her beloved family.

She didn't let her cancer define her, she lived life to the fullest.

She leaves behind Lori Girard-(Daughter), Marshall Girard-(Son-in-Law), Sarah Girard-(Her Beloved Granddaughter), Brian Fitzgerald-(Brother) and a whole family that loved her very much.

Her wish was to be cremated with no sorrowful funeral.

Her family will be Celebrating her Life on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the family home.

I will miss my sister, she was a great person and a great mother.
Even tho she had cancer and suffered the last years, she was a brave fighter
