Marilyn Moore Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home - Haverhill on Dec. 31, 2025.
The lovely Marilyn Moore passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, at the age of 95. She
was born in New York City on September 15, 1930, daughter of the late Imogene and Donald
Cameron. She leaves behind her loving husband John (Jack) Ryan, daughter and best friend
Candice MacBain, and her beloved granddogs, Sophie and Sallie. Marilyn also leaves behind
many dear friends and neighbors, whose lives she enriched with her authenticity, kindness and,
always present, warm smile.
Generous to a fault, making life easier for others was the core of her heart. After a long career
with Polaroid, where she met Jack, she undertook the role she loved most as nanny to Katy
and Brian's children, Thomas, Patrick, and Celia, and Beth's children, Quinn and Erica. These
families and children became part of her own and remain part of her legacy to this day.
In addition to her loving granddogs, Marilyn was a longtime cat Mom to Jonathan, Liza,
Amadeus, Miss Sadie and Pixie. Several of the kitties became companions and friends to her
closest neighbors. Marilyn also adopted an unwanted and unappreciated Quaker Parrot whom
she named Larry Bird. She nurtured this tiny and frightened little guy and created an
extroverted proud parrot who became capable of singing Old MacDonald and Jingle Bells, as
well as demonstrating a fairly extensive vocabulary.
Among Marilyn's favorite things were annual pilgrimages with Jack to the warmth of Florida in
the winter and to the races in Saratoga in the summer. A collection of books for reading and
crossword puzzles for completing were in easy reach of the armchairs that adorned the
comfortable and welcoming Victorian home that she cherished for many decades. More
recently, she had become a TikTok enthusiast, captured by the celebrations of life, people and
animals across the platform.
Marilyn loved Christmas and her beautifully decorated home was an enchanting place to be
during the holiday season. She loved celebrating her family and friends and was famous for the
thoughtful gifts she gave at the holidays and on special occasions.
She will be lovingly missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Memorial Service on Monday, January 5, 7:00 pm at the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer Street, Haverhill.
