Marilyn S. Nutt

Marilyn was the daughter of William and Gertrude Pine and the second oldest of five siblings. Lenny, Bobbie, Diane, and Ruthie. One of her greatest joys was serving her family. She was the defender and teacher to her younger siblings and shared a special bond with her older brother, Lenny. Education was a priority for Marilyn. She was a proud graduate of Camden High school class of 1960. Purple and gold remained two of her favorite colors.

Marilyn's Christian journey began at Rosedale Baptist Church in Camden, where she became the church secretary, Sunday school teacher, and nursery attendant. She also sang in both the Jr. and Sr. choirs. In 1965, Marilyn met Don Nutt. In 1967, Marilyn and Don were married at Rosedale. They maintained their membership there until 1994, when they transferred it to First Baptist Church in Haddonfield, NJ, where Marilyn served on the diaconate as a Deaconess, as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and as a nursery attendant.

Marilyn was the mother of two children, Marlene (Bob) Hoskins and Gregory (Sue) Nutt. She was the grandmother of Isabelle and Bobby and the aunt of 28 nieces and nephews. Additionally, Marilyn celebrated the multitude of great nieces, nephews, and cousins who became the beautiful fabric of her family.

Marilyn worked at Bell Telephone until her marriage. Then she spent 17 years as an Instructional Assistant within the Camden City Public School System. Marilyn continued her education at Rowan University and obtained her teacher's certification in 1995. Marilyn continued her tenure with Camden City Public Schools, teaching Kindergarten through third grade until her retirement in 2005.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Don; her children, Marlene and Greg; her brother, Lenny; her sisters, Bobbie and Diane; her grandchildren, Isabelle and Bobby, and numerous extended family members.

Marilyn's celebration of life service will be January 3, 2026, at Boucher Funeral Home, 1757 Delsea Dr., Deptford, NJ 08096. Viewing will be from 9:30am to 11am.

Graveside service to follow at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 240 N Tuckahoe Rd, Williamstown, NJ 08094.
