St. George, Utah – Marilyn Olson 78, passed away January 7, 2025, at her home in St. George UT. She was born in Logan, UT to Roger and Leatha Hansen Baur. She was raised in Ogden, UT. She graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber State.
Marilyn married Dave Cole, and they had two children: Cari and Rob. Later she married Fay Olson, and they had 16 wonderful years together before he passed away in 2002.
Marilyn enjoyed snow skiing, waterskiing, ceramics, sewing, reading and most of all traveling with family and friends.
She is survived by her children: Cari (Warren) Prisbrey and Rob (Audrey) Cole; stepchildren: Kelly Olson, Michelle (Jill) Sparks, and Monica Mehr; bonus sons: Tom (Wendy) Baur and Mike (Desiree) Mortenson; grandchildren: Carli, Richard, Kearstin, R.J., Matthew (Fiona), Connor, and Sully; greatgrandchildren: Zarren and Zaydee; brother, Gary (Nancy) Baur; sister, Linda (Jerry) Poulter; brother-in-law, Larry (Mary) Allen; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Sharon Allen; brother, Clair Baur; and Navajo sisters: Geraldine and Merlinda.
The family would like to thank her granddaughter Carli and Suntree Hospice for taking care of her the last few months.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to their favorite charities.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Cotton Acres Ward Chapel, 2434 East Riverside Drive, St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday, prior to services, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Central Cemetery, Central, Utah.
