Kathryn (Kathy) Kendrick Rochell, age 76, passed away on August 6, 2025. Kathy was born July 30, 1949 to Ellis R. and Anna Lou Bailey Kendrick in Logan, Utah. She was raised in Sunset, Utah and graduated from Clearfield High School. She attended Stevens-Henager College and Weber State College.
Kathy married Randy L. Rochell on August 1, 1987 in Hooper, Utah, and they enjoyed 32 years together before his passing in 2019. Together, they owned and operated Randy's Hauling.
Kathy worked for Hess, Palmer, Van Wagenen and Page, Attorneys, for several years before moving to Washington D.C., to work for the Securities and Exchange Commission. She moved back to Utah and went to work at Hill Air Force Base where she retired after 28 years of service. After retiring, she starting writing, which was her passion, and she achieved her goal of becoming a published author in 2007. She loved seeing her books in print and hearing how much readers enjoyed her stories.
Kathy loved traveling and meeting new people; reading, crafts, and long drives. She was an excellent piano player and was the ward organist for many years. She enjoyed camping with her husband and family, riding in their side-by-side and enjoying their cabin. Her favorite place besides her cabin was spending time in Yellowstone National Park and Island Park.
She is survived by three children: Bradley (Kristy) Rochell, Scotty (Crystal - deceased) Rochell, and Lisa (Frankie) Parrella; seven grandchildren, Brandon (Corinne) Rochell, Kasey Rochell (Macrae Fishburn - fiancé), Levi Rochell, Konner Rochell, Serena White, Wyatt Christensen, and Paisley Parrella, and one great-granddaughter Haidyn Rochell. One sister, Anna Marie (Dennis) Giese. Four brothers; Dennis (Marlene) Kendrick, Dale (Laurie) Kendrick, Larry (Joan) Kendrick and Alan (Janet) Kendrick; five sisters-in-law, Helen (Ken) Taylor, Lucille Staples, Marie Workman, Hattie Rochell, and Francis Kilfoyle; and too many great friends to mention.
She was preceded in death by her husband Randy; parents, Ellis R. and Anna Lou Kendrick; six brothers-in-law, James Rochell, Andrew Rochell, Ray Staples, Floyd Workman, Vern Kilfoyle and Bill Hindes; and two sisters-in-law, Norma Hindes and Pam Rochell.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West,
Roy, UT. The graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Hooper City Cemetery, 5290 South 6300 West, Hooper, UT.
