Marilyn Joanne Ostler passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on September 26, 2024, and returned to the arms of her Savior. Born on June 21, 1943, in Winnemucca, Nevada, to Thayne Alex Cowan and Mary Elizabeth Fowers, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond Floyd Ostler, and stepson, Reece Wyatt Ostler.

Marilyn was a proud graduate of Brigham Young University, where she earned a bachelor's degree. She married Larry Wachter, and together they welcomed a beautiful daughter and son into their family. Later in life, she found love again with Raymond Floyd Ostler, and through their marriage, they added another cherished daughter to their family, blending together ten children and creating a large, integrated family.

A devout and lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Marilyn found great joy in her faith. She and her husband had the sacred privilege of serving a senior mission together in the Oklahoma Mission, where their shared dedication to service was deeply felt. Known for her boundless generosity, Marilyn expressed her love by giving thoughtful gifts and creating cherished moments with those she held dear.

Marilyn’s greatest joy came from the time she spent with her children and grandchildren, whether it was camping, fishing, playing games, working on puzzles, coloring, or simply watching movies together. Her infectious smile and joyful spirit brightened the lives of all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Marilyn faced numerous health challenges with resilience and grace. She exceeded expectations time and time again, maintaining a positive outlook and spreading happiness wherever she went. Her unwavering optimism and warm presence were a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Marilyn is lovingly remembered by her children: Michelle White (Denny), Brent Wachter (Kris), Lindsay Gomez (Ricardo), Rainette Goold (Roger), Kristin Jensen (Dave), Sean Ostler (Monique), Maya Ostler (Daniel), Rob Ostler (Trish), and Brook Ostler (Emily). Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Tiffany, Tyler, Kayleigh, Parker, Ellie, Victoria, Justine, Ceci, EBelle, Danny, Andy, Jason, Jacque, Meghan, Natalie, Hilary, Anne, Jen, Abigail, Boston, Asa, Mason, Riley, Wyatt, Billy, JJ, Dalton, Alec, Kayla, Ajax, Xander; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 4, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 700 West 2600 North, Lehi, Utah. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and one hour prior to the services on Friday at the same location. Interment will follow at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery.
