Marilyn Jean Pare-Lee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the grand age of 88. Born on February 17, 1937, in Bark River, Michigan, she was the eighth child in a bustling household of thirteen siblings. Marilyn's early life on the farm instilled in her a love for nature. She was an avid gardener, finding solace and delight in the vibrant colors and intricate beauty of her flowers. Her garden was a reflection of her—vibrant, nurturing, and full of life. She often joked that she'd rather be outside than inside, and her numerous bird feeders attracted a symphony of song that underscored the tranquility of her home. An enthusiastic birdwatcher, Marilyn's love for these feathered creatures was more than a hobby; it was a connection to the natural world that she adored.
Marilyn's family was her pride and joy. She was a devoted mother to her children Terry (Ann), Todd (Ann), Tim, and Michelle. Her role as a grandmother to Jeff, Sean, Sara, Melanie, Stephanie, Rae, Ashlee, Tyler, Savanah, Zach, Hunter, and Abbey was one she cherished deeply, and the legacy of her love and teachings will live on through them and her eight great-grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
Though preceded in death by her beloved husbands Adelore in 2002 and Marc in 2020, daughter Mary in 2003, as well as her parents William and Rose (Lavigne) Savage, and her twelve siblings, Marilyn's memory will be held in the hearts of those she has left behind.
With her husband Marc, Marilyn took many trips, each an adventure that fueled her spirited and determined nature. Together, they explored and celebrated life, their companionship and shared interests. Marilyn enjoyed time spent on a bowling league. She played until she could no more, her laughter and competitive spirit a reminder to all that age is but a number.
To describe Marilyn as feisty, determined, and energetic only scratches the surface of her complex character. She was a matriarch in the truest sense, her gentle guidance and unconditional love forming the cornerstone of her family. Her passion for life was infectious, and her presence was a source of comfort and inspiration.
In accordance with Marilyn’s wishes a private graveside service will be held at Arlington Park Cemetery, Greenfield, WI.
4747 South 60th Street, Greenfield, WI 53220
