Memorial services for Marilyn Phillips, 86 of Springfield, will be Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.
Devoted wife of Wade Phillips of Springfield; cherished mother to Brad Phillips (Heather) of Springfield and Scott Phillips (Kristen) of Springfield, MO; and beloved grandmother of Alex, Sagan and Wilder, Marilyn will be deeply missed.
Born November 16, 1937 in Ripley County, Missouri, Marilyn was the daughter of Homer & Belva Stroud, who preceded her in death. She grew up in St. Louis, graduating from Wellston High School and continued her education at Washington University. She then moved to California to pursue her dance career working with many famous Hollywood faces. On November 19, 1960, she married the love of her life, Wade Phillips. They lived in Tennessee and Colorado before moving to Canyon Texas where they raised their boys before moving to Springfield in 1990.
Marilyn committed her life to caring for her family as a wife and mother and was an invaluable support system for her husband's business ventures.
Along with loving her family, Marilyn will be remembered for her love of Christ and her faithful membership at the First Baptist Church in Canyon where she attended and served for many years. She was also blessed to be a talented artist and a gifted professional dancer and ballerina performing on multiple stages and television programs. She was a selfless and beautiful woman whose legacy will live on through her family.
