Marilyn J. Syphers Ransom passed into the loving arms of our Lord on August 4, 2025, at the beautiful age of 94, in Melbourne, Fl.

Predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Donald Ransom; parents Otto H. Syphers, Beatrice L. (Sterling) Syphers, and her sister Beatrice E. Syphers

As a wonderful mother, she is survived by her children, Steven D. Ransom (Cindy), Patricia J. Ransom Hill, Judy L. Ransom Winters (Mark) & Karma J. Ransom Bonn; her cherished brothers, Donald C. Syphers (Alice) of Durham, NH., David W. Syphers (Ann) of Englewood, FL. and her sister, Norma S. (Syphers) Alexander of Silver Lake, NH. She was a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Marilyn was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and graduated from Portsmouth High School. She then joined the United States Air Force and served from 1950-1952, as a Weather Observer. She later had a long career as an accountant/bookkeeper with Babcock Building Supplies until she retired.

Marilyn enjoyed spending time walking along the beach collecting shells and sea beans. As a former member of the Skippers club Marilyn and Don often would spend time on their boat, the Nellie Bea. They loved to cruise and travel the U.S and abroad. She loved the water and being close to nature, visiting different wildlife sanctuaries, admiring what nature provided. She enjoyed golfing with her husband and friends. The evenings were often spent sitting on the porch with her lady friends conversing about the day's events over a glass of wine. Marilyn was also an avid reader, always exchanging books with friends.

A private interment at the FL. National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Audubon Society or your local PBS.
