Miller Mortuary - LiberalMarilyn Sue (Evans) Ryan, 80, passed away on Tuesday October 14, 2025 at her son Devin's house in Kismet, Kansas surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born on January 10, 1945 to Raymon and Margaret (Kilgore) Evans in Davenport, Iowa.
Marilyn graduated from Kinsley High School in Kinsley, Kansas; class of 1963. She married Dean Ryan on November 20, 1966. Three children were born to this union, Bob, Devin, and Dallas in Dodge City, Kansas. The family moved and settled down in Kismet, Kansas on August 16, 1977, (the day Elvis Presley died).
Marilyn was the owner and operator of Marilyn's Club in Plains, Kansas. She was a certified bowling instructor and taught many children and adults before moving to Kismet. Marilyn sold Avon to many people throughout the area for several years. She was a volunteer firefighter in Kismet. She also announced t-ball and baseball in Kismet. Marilyn loved chatting and playing games online with her friends. She was one of the founding members of the Dirty Deeds Squad, pulling pranks on many residents of Kismet. Marilyn had an enigmatic personality and loved to celebrate life with her friends and family.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Randel and Raymon Evans, and one sister Evelyn Fulton.
She leaves behind three sons, Robert Ryan, Lewisville, Texas, Devin Ryan (Barb), Kismet, Kansas, and Dallas Ryan (Traci), Liberal, Kansas; 6 grand children, Ranae Coy, Shawn Ryan, Cory Ryan, Sheree' Ryan, Tyler Ryan, and Michael Ryan, and 2 great-grand children.
There will be no public viewing.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday November 1, 2025 at the Pavilion in Kismet, KS.
She will privately be put to rest in the Fellsburg Cemetery, Fellsburg, Kansas, at a later date.
