Marilyn Davis Savich, 69, was welcomed into eternity on November 15, 2024 by her Lord and Savior Jesus and by those who loved her and have gone before her: first husband, Larry Davis; parents, Wayne and Connie Johnson; best friend, Darcee Murphy; brother, Jerry Johnson; mother-in-law, Phyllis Davis; father-in-law, Eugene Davis; and aunt, Thelma Pataluch. She is survived by many friends and family who also love her: husband, Carl Savich; children, Holly (Ethan) Daly, Peter (Ashley) Davis, Sara (Evan) DePotter and step-son, Phil (Faren) Savich; grandchildren, Malachi, Lincoln, Kingston, and Thaddeus Daly, Emerson and Olivia Davis, Eloise and Davis DePotter, and Eliana, Asher, and Paisley Savich; siblings, Allen (Debbie) Johnson, Linda (Larry) Jones, Sheryl (Mike) Benjamin, Monte (Gloria) Johnson, Janet (Don) Lyon, and Chelo Tenorio; and in-laws, Bob and Carolyn Savich.
Marilyn (Johnson) Davis Savich was born in Frederick, MD on Aug 11, 1955, to Wayne and Connie Johnson. She graduated from La Porte High School in 1973 and went on to attend Taylor University and eventually graduated with a bachelors degree in interior design from Purdue University.
She married Larry Davis on July 2, 1978, in La Porte, Indiana. They cherished 23 years together, raising their 3 children, before Larry's death on July 1, 2001. Marilyn often shared her greatest love and accomplishment in life was being a mother.
Marilyn married Carl Savich on October 13, 2007 in La Porte, Indiana. They combined families and enjoyed many years of hosting, traveling, and welcoming a combined 11 grandchildren.
Marilyn worked for GIS Insurance for 16 years. She loved growing her flower gardens, spending time with her grandchildren, playing the violin, bird watching, scrap-booking, hosting others in her home, and traveling with her husband. She was a member of Agape Christian Church where she taught Sunday school class and helped organize and lead Bible studies and retreats. She was also a member of the Board of Directors for La Porte's Arts in the Park organization for several years.
Visitation will be at Agape Christian Church in La Porte, Indiana, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on November 30, 2024, with her funeral service following. A private family burial will follow at Door Village Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Women's Care Center, 512 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN 46350 or Arts in the Park, P.O. Box 47, La Porte, IN 46352, in honor of Marilyn.
