Marilyn Thomas Obituary
Marilyn Thomas, affectionately known as "Meme," left this world for her heavenly home on the morning of November 19, 2025. She was retired from the Georgia Department of Labor. Marilyn was a devoted follower of Christ and a generous giver that supported many ministries both local and abroad. She enjoyed playing the piano and going to gospel singings. She loved being a mother and grandmother, but her greatest joy was her three beautiful great grandchildren.
Marilyn was born May 21, 1946, in Blue Ridge, GA to Porter and Dorothy Thomas. She was preceded in death by her father, Porter Thomas; and mother, Dorothy Thomas.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Tom) Wheeler; brother, Jerry W. Thomas; sister, Brenda (Richard) Argo; granddaughter, Megan Collis; and great-grandchildren, Beckett Collis, Huxley Collis, and Marlowe Collis.
Funeral Service on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Eric Davenport and Rev. Richard Argo officiating. Music by Robert Bucannon.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Danny Davenport, Lonnie Cole, Damon Davenport, Scott Thomas, Chuck Thomas, Jimmy Wood, Roger Long, and David McBrayer.
Honorary pallbearers, Harry Doss and Bradley Davis.
Interment will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Morganton, GA.
The family will receive friends at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Blue Ridge Chapel on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
