On May 7, 2023, Mrs. Marilyn Pierce Watts, passed away peacefully at her home in Sun, LA surrounded by her family. She was a graduate of Covington High School and went on to college to receive her nursing license. Marilyn was the most loving, caring, and accepting person. She served as a nurse for roughly 38 years. She excelled in her nursing career due to her very selflessness and her passion to help anyone in need. Aside from being a wife, mother, grandmother, and nurse, she enjoyed gardening, feeding birds, fishing, and caring for any animal she had or found.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years: Robert Watts; two sons: Michael "Mickey" Watts (Emily) and Robert "Jason" Watts (Nichole); one daughter: Toni Beaudette (Rustin); nine grandchildren: Hailey Penton, Caleb Beaudette, Cristian Beaudette, Victoria Tynes (Country), Morgan Watts, Adleigh Watts, Tye Watts, Damyan Watts, and Byron Watts; three great-grandchildren: Cannon Wade Loup, Braxtyn Tate Watts, and Stella Kate Harviin; one brother: Victor "Dale" Pierce; a sister: Tonya Lynn Parker; and a host of other family and friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents: Victor and Marilyn Pierce; one grandson: Byron Beaudette; and one sister: Brenda Gayle Pierce.
The family would like to recognize the staff at Compassus Hospice, which include: Monica, Ashley P., Casey, Ashley K., Kim, Danielle, and Sandy. These nurses, social workers, and staff went above and beyond their call of duty to care for Mrs. Marilyn in her last stage of Earthly life.
Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements. Wednesday, May 10, 2023, a visitation will be held in the funeral home chapel from 12PM until time of service at 3PM with Bro. Fred Brumfield officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Jewel Pierce Cemetery in Sun, Louisiana.
