Marilyn LaMae (Svensson) Weedman

July 29, 1932 – November 2, 2015

On Sunday, November 2, 2025; Marilyn passed away at home with her family near, at 93 years young.

Marilyn was born in Mountain Lake, MN., to parents Emily Mathilda (Renberg) Svensson and Ray Peter Svensson. She attended school in Comfrey, MN. After graduation from High School she went to beauty school, to become a beautician.

Marilyn met Richard Weedman at a dance in Lamberton, MN. Richard joined the Army and was in the Korean War. Marilyn waited for him to return home. When he did, in 1955, they were married in Comfrey, MN. The couple lived in Mankato, MN; where their daughter and 2 sons were born.

Marilyn's brothers had sold the family farm in Comfrey, MN and moved to Flagstaff, AZ in the late 1950's. After both brothers passed away; Richard, Marilyn, and family moved in 1964, to Clarkdale, AZ to continue the running of her brother's businesses. Maynard's business was apartments in Flagstaff and the laundry in Clarkdale and Scotty worked in the banking industry

In the summer of 1965 the family moved to Flagstaff, AZ, continuing to run the businesses. They loved Flagstaff and never left, except for yearly family trips back to MN, in the summer.

Marilyn babysat for many of the children in the neighborhood, while their parents worked, went skiing, or out for a date night. Many of her little ones, she watched grow up and graduate high school and college. She was a wonderful cake baker; many wedding cakes and special birthday cakes came from her kitchen. She loved being out in nature; cutting wood or just having a picnic with her family and friends. Lake Powell was a location that was visited by her family many times a year, the love for Lake Powell was so great; they purchased a beautiful turquoise and white boat. And the fun trips to "the lake", increased.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her Mother and Father, her brothers, Scotty, Maynard, and Milo; sister, Burnadine.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Sam) Whitted, sons Steven (Vicki), and Brian (Julie); 5 Granddaughters, 1 Grandson; 5 Great-Grandsons, and 4 Great-Granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.

When tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for

every time you think of me, I will be right there in your heart.

A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at a later date.
