Marilyn June Werner, age 97 of Xenia, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Legacy Village. She was born July 20, 1928 in Xenia, Ohio the daughter of the late Roscoe and Grace Sturgeon.
Marilyn graduated from Xenia High School in the class of 1947. There she formed strong bonds with friends and formed the Secret Pal Club which they carried on with their own children. Her caring nature was seen in her work as a Nurse Aid at Kettering Convalescent Center. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling and playing Bingo. Ultimately, her joy in life came from raising her beloved children and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her Husband, Fred B. Werner, Father, Roscoe W. Sturgeon, Mother, Grace Alma Sturgeon; Brother, Wayne Sturgeon; Sisters, Jackie Snodgrass and Doris Michael and Step-Sons, Jim Werner and Merrill (Genny) Werner and very special friend, Leon Foley.
Marilyn is survived by her Two Daughters, Sherry (Kenneth)Strickland, Carol Jean ( Richard) Huff; Son, Gary Lee Johnson; Step- Sons, Bill (Judy) Werner and their family and Larry (Janet) Werner and their family; Grandchildren, Misty Strickland, Kenny Strickland, Julie Duzak and David Huff; Great Grandchildren, Madison, Grace, Owen, Olivia, Evan and Colin; Sisters, Patricia Benson and Judy Inwood; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Rosemary Foley and Paul Story.
Per Marilyn's wishes, there will be no services held.
