Marilyn "Joanne" Willlman (92) passed away on July 11, 2024, due to natural causes. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, at the American Lutheran Church at 1:00pm with burial to follow at the Kuper Memorial Cemetery.
Joanne was born on April 18, 1932, to Harold and Mina (Ames) Thielman. She was the third oldest of nine kids raised on the farm northeast of Tiber. She attended and graduated from school in Chester.
Joanne married Harold Lybeck on March 17, 1951, and together they made their home north of Lohman. Although their time together was short, they were blessed with Karen, Kent, and Kevin. Joanne later married Wayne William on March 12, 1965, which added four more children, Tanis, Steve, Grant, and Kevin. Together she and Wayne also had Todd and Karla and raised their family south of Chinook.
Joanne was an active member of WIFE, Red Hat Society, Garden Club, Lohman Loyalties, as well as the American Lutheran Church. She took great joy in her children and grandchildren and took great pride in making special treats. There were always cookies in the freezer if there weren't fresh ones on the counter. Joanne thoroughly enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
Survivors include her children, Karen (Ken) Blunt, Kevin (Susan) Lybeck, Karla (Jamie) Neibauer, Tanis (Charlie) Henry, Steve (Jerri Ann) Willman, Grant (Jenifer) Willman, Kevin (Karla) Willman, daughter in law Arleen Lybeck, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and one sister, Elosie Morehead. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mina Thielman; her husbands, Harold Lybeck and Wayne Willman; her brothers, Dale, Dean, Gale, Charles and Terry Thielman; her sisters, Georgia Mondy and Linda Kathman; and her sons, Kent (Arleen) Lybeck and Todd Willman.
Memorials may be made to the American Lutheran Church in Chinook or to the Chinook Senior Center.
