Marilyn S. Zeigler, 87, a long-time Brunswick resident, passed away peacefully on the evening of November 17, 2022, in Brunswick, Ohio. She was born on May 4, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio to Fred and Agnes (Regal) Schenk.

She was a dedicated member of Brunswick Reformed Church (BRC) and considered the church to be her second family. In addition, to being a charter member, she also served as a youth group advisor, a morning greeter, a Bible study member, and a steadfast prayer warrior. One of her most fervent prayers was answered with the creation of a connection of BRC with Kids Hope USA. A program that connected her church family with her work family, Towslee Elementary, in a mentorship program for children.

Marilyn's years of work as a librarian were more of a devotion than employment, as she served over 40 years as the Librarian at Towslee Elementary School. She made it her top priority to ensure every student and staff member knew that they were important and valued individuals. She instilled a passion for reading in every child and decorated her library as a playful area to explore the world through books. Many students hold fond memories of her many puppets and animal cracker treats, as well as her consistent encouragement to give warm fuzzies and to avoid cold pricklies. Last month, Marilyn was inducted into the Brunswick School District Alumni Hall of Fame, in recognition of her tremendous impact on so many lives.

Marilyn will be deeply missed by many, but especially by her family. She is survived by her children, Donna (John) Cook, Tracy Lezark, Scott Zeigler, and Karyn (Earl) Gentile; grandchildren, Kyle, Kelly (Marc), Kevin, Grace, Madeline, and Joey; and great-grandchild, Wesley; as well as many family members and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Eddie and Freddie.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Brunswick Reformed Church, 3535 Grafton Road, Brunswick, Ohio, on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at 2:30 PM. The family will receive friends at Brunswick Reformed Church at 1:30 PM, before the start of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn's name to Brunswick Reformed Church, 3535 Grafton Road, Brunswick, OH 44212.

I have many fond memories of Marilyn. She was always so friendly to everyone. I don't think I ever saw her angry.
She was very family oriented and shared her family with her Towslee friends. I will miss her .

Memories. I have so many memories. Memories of the good times and the bad. Memories from long ago and some from more recent times. Memories from times gone by that we barely even remember ´cause we were young and having fun. And so many loving memories from our golden years that I´ll cherish until the day I die. May you rest in peace Mrs Ziegler. Until we shall meet again.

What a beautiful tribute to Marilyn! I had the privilege of working with Marilyn for 25 of her 40 years at Towslee. Every word of this obituary is true about what she meant to the children and staff there. The world is a better place because of Marilyn. My prayers are with her family at this time.
