Mario Ciccone Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Mario Ciccone, a resident of McLean, VA, beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather, died peacefully at home on July 30, 2025 at the age of 87 years. The second oldest of 6 children, Mario was born in Pacentro, Italy, on July 21, 1938, the son of Alessandro and Angela Ciccone.
Mario immigrated to the United States in 1951, embracing the American dream with determination and heart, and becoming an American citizen in 1957. A proud U.S. Army veteran and dedicated public servant, he worked at the FBI while studying Accounting and Business at George Washington University, later contributing to companies like IBM and retiring from BCBS.
Mario was deeply involved in the Italian-American community, especially through Holy Rosary Church, the Italian Cadets soccer team, and Abruzzo Molise Heritage Society. He was known for his generosity, vibrant social spirit, and devotion to helping others-especially fellow Italian immigrants with small businesses.
Above all, Mario cherished his family. He is survived by Carmen Ciccone, his beloved wife of 58 years, their three children David (Dasha), Carlos (Melissa), and Angie (Matt), and six grandchildren Alexandra, Marielle, Nicholas, Sofia, Lia, and Max. His legacy of love, service, and integrity lives on in all who knew him.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11:00am at Holy Rosary Church, 595 3rd St. NW, Washington, DC 20001. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Parkinson's Foundation www.parkinson.org
