Mario M. Roberto, beloved son of the late Antonio and Betty (Betta) Roberto; loving husband of Holly (Monroe) and father of Mark A., Alexander C. (Mary Katherine) and Elizabeth H; grandfather to Chloe V., Mario C. and Johnny M.; cherished brother of Mary T. (Sal) Posa and John A. Roberto; and, brother-in-law to Thomas (Joyce) Monroe and late Nancy Mahaney. Mario also leaves behind his aunt, Elvira Costanzo, and a large extended family of cousins, and nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.
Mario had a variety of careers. On moving to Florida, he built and ran a restaurant in Melbourne, Fresh sh sh Pasta Company. Often, he simultaneously worked at buying, renting and selling real estate. He was adept at just about everything he tried, whether a construction trade, property management or running a restaurant without prior experience.
Mario was proud of his Air Force service, which included eight years of active duty and twenty two in the Pennsylvania and Florida Air Guard. His active duty included two years in Vietnam.
Mostly, though, he was proudest of his children and grandchildren. In his later years, his greatest joy was being PaPa or Pop Pop to grandchildren who adored him.
Mario was a long time member of the Melbourne Elks lodge.
Calling hours are Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 2 pm until 7 pm at Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home. His Funeral Mass will be Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 11:30 am at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Indialantic, Florida followed by US Army honors at 2:30 pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, Florida.

Holly, Mark, Alex and Elizabeth my dearest condolences. I had the opportunity to spend a few weeks with Mario in Calabria last year and it was a very insightful time to get to know him, Ninny and his family a little more. I raise a glass of Macallen to my friend. Thanks for your humor, quick wit, honesty and most of all your knowledge.

Condolences to Holly and the entire Roberto family. I was fortunate to see Mario a few months ago after a very long period of time. As eloquent and classy as I remember him from my youth. Rest in peace, kind soul.
