Marion Lorene Berryhill born on December 1, 1980 in Lubbock, Texas. She left us unexpectedly, but peacefully, in her own home. Lore, as she was more commonly known, was a refreshing and peaceful part of all of the lives she was gratefully a part of. Her life on Earth was marked by a steadfast devotion to her children, siblings, and many dear friends. A caregiver at heart, she was always the first to offer care, comfort, and understanding, never hesitating to lend her time, hands, and heart to those in need. Lore had a gift for bringing calm to any moment and light to any room she entered. She offered comfort through understanding, laughter through difficult times, and love that asked for nothing in return. Her presence was a gentle reminder of grace and kindness, and her compassion extended to all who crossed her path. To her family and friends, she was not only a source of strength and comfort, but also an example of genuine goodness - a heart that loved deeply, gave freely, and left the world softer and brighter for having been in it.
Lore is survived by her four beautiful children, Carter, Carson, Courtney, and Cade, her loving parents, Ellen and Rodney, and her dear siblings, Lyn, Darla, Bobby, Beau, and Luke. She was the cherished granddaughter of Ray and Rose Pettis, and Bobby Dorman and Evelyn Maddison. She was predeceased by her grandfather, Ray Pettis.
After her graduation from Lorenzo High School, Lore went on to attend Texas Tech University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She later returned to her alma mater to pursue her Master of Science in Nursing, completing her studies in 2009. Her passion for caring for others was evident in every aspect of her work, from her early days as a registered nurse to her many years serving as a family nurse practitioner. Lore approached each patient with compassion, empathy, and an unwavering dedication to their well-being. Her gentle spirit and attentive care touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of healing and kindness that will not soon be forgotten.
Outside of her work, Lore found her greatest joy in time spent with her children and family. She loved simple moments sharing laughter around the kitchen table, celebrating life's milestones, or just being together. She had a quiet strength and a heart full of love, always putting others before herself. Her presence brought warmth, her laughter brought joy, and her love will continue to guide those she leaves behind.
Lore's life was a beautiful reflection of faith, compassion, and grace. Though her time here was far too short, the light she brought to others will continue to shine through the memories, stories, and love she left behind.
Lore's family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all who have reached out in love, prayer, and remembrance during this difficult time. Your kindness is a reflection of the love she shared so freely with others.
To know Lore was to be touched by kindness. Though she has gone to her eternal home, her light will continue to guide those she loved most.
"Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord." – Matthew 25:23
