Marion's journey was marked by her dedication to serving others, a commitment that led her to pursue a career as a pediatric nurse. During World War II, she answered the call to aid her nation by working as a welder in 1944, an experience that underscored her belief that there was nothing she couldn't do. With determination and grit, she worked tirelessly to put herself through nursing school while raising six children on her own.

Beyond her professional life, Marion ventured into entrepreneurship by owning a restaurant and bakery in Vermont, where her love for cooking and baking flourished. Her culinary skills brought joy and comfort to many, reflecting her passion for bringing people together through food.

Marion's interests extended beyond the kitchen; she found solace and expression in poetry, writing, and singing. However, it was her family that truly held her heart. She cherished her role as a mother to her sons, Michael (Kathleen) Sprague and Thomas (Rebecca) Sprague, and daughter, Jeanne Conn (Mo). Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren, Justin, Kristina, Chris, Sonya, Nathan, Tim, Alicia, Samantha, Jennifer, David and Donna, along with numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit of love and resilience.

Preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Margaret (White) Conroy, her dear husband, Clifton "Kip" Lanpher, and her son's David, Bernard (Sharon) and Peter (Lillian) Sprague. Marion's memory lives on in the hearts of those she touched. Her path was uniquely her own, defined by an unyielding resolve and a selflessness that left a profound impact on everyone who knew her.
