Marion Joan Dimon, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on May 22, 2025, at the age of 90, in Fort Gratiot, MI. Born on April 4, 1935, in
Port Huron, MI, Marion's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and perseverance.
Marion's story began in the small town of Port Huron, where she attended Marysville High School, laying the foundations of a life characterized by dedication and warmth. It was in her youth, at the Star Theatre, where a playful squabble over an armrest would lead her to the love of her life, Allen Dimon. Their love story spanned 75 remarkable years, filled with laughter, support, and an unbreakable bond.
Together, Marion and Allen built a life centered around their cherished family. They were blessed with five children: Allen Dimon Jr. (Karen), James Dimon (Golda), Cindy Steinhaus (Jim), and Kary McArthur (John). Marion's joy multiplied with each addition to her family, including her adored grandchildren, Jodi, James, Steven, Gary, Gina, Joelle, Jamie, Trevor, Garret, and Emma, and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Don Simmons. She was the heart and soul of the family, and her greatest achievement was the beautiful, loving home she created and nurtured. Marion was predeceased by her son, Gary Dimon, her sisters Beverly and Linda, brother Robert, and a great-grandchild, Mason.
Though Marion never sought the spotlight, her selfless nature made her the silent heroine of her family. Her ability to love unconditionally and her unwavering kindness were her most defining traits. She had a gift for making everyone around her feel valued and loved, and her home was always filled with the aroma of her delicious cooking and baking-a testament to her belief in the power of food to bring people together.
Marion's interests extended beyond the kitchen, as she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren. Whether it was sharing stories, imparting wisdom, or simply listening, she was always there for them, her presence a comforting constant in their lives.
A well-known quote that Marion lived by was from Mother Teresa: "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." Marion's life was a living embodiment of this philosophy. She may not have sought greatness, but in her small acts of love and kindness, she achieved something far greater.
Marion will be remembered not just for her selflessness, loving nature, and kindness, but also for her resilience and the quiet strength she displayed throughout her life. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and the family she so adored will continue to honor her memory by embodying the values she held dear.
As we bid farewell to Marion Joan Dimon, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that truly made the world a better place. Her spirit will forever be a guiding light for her family, and her memory will be cherished for generations to come. Marion's journey through life was a remarkable one, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
